Remote working arrangements are granted for specific roles or circumstances, typically on a time-limited basis. Any extension beyond the initial approval period requires a formal request to M’s office, supported by the agent’s line manager and HR representative.
Extension requests must demonstrate ongoing operational suitability, maintained security compliance, and proof of secure workspace integrity. All extended remote assignments are subject to periodic audits by Technical Security and may be revoked at any time should risk conditions change. Remote work remains a privilege, not a right — continuing authorisation depends on consistent adherence to MI5’s confidentiality and performance standards.
